First day in Japan was a long one but there was sake at the end!!! Lunch was gyoza, crab dumplings, pork dumplings and shitake dumplings, dinner was chirashi zushi and "steamed egg in a cup". The egg was a similar texture to pana-cotta but with bits of savoury things to find in it. Actually very nice. I predict sake at the end of today as well.

Suzi Gillespie Sounds great John. Nellie ad gyoza for lunch the other day at Kabuki on the East Coast. I bet hers wasn't as good and authentic as yous though.

Adrian Dillon The best gyoza we've had was @ AbuCha in Hirafu- a stuffed chicken leg, magic... I'm sure you'll make the most of you gastronomic adventure!
